Days 42-45

I guess I'm tired of blogging every day. Somehow, the idea of uploading my photos every day and editing and the fear of disappointment has gotten to me. I've been lazy the past few days. I should try harder. But the truth is, I can't be crazy inspired every day. I find things I like. I find things other people might not see. But real creativity comes in waves, it can't be forced. So maybe what I need to work on is finding the right way to portray what I find inspirational, however minimal that inspiration may be. Here are the last few days.

Day forty! Oh my goodness. That's so many days. That's so many pictures! I love it. Today I felt lazy and abstract and had a happy accident. This picture is crazy blurry, but I think it works.

Today I did some senior portraits! I forgot how fun they could be. Sadly, our time was really limited since we couldn't start taking pictures until 6-ish. Still, there were some cool shots. These are my favorites

I was very busy today! I decided to try and catch up on sleep. My picture is one I've been eyeing for a long time, but I couldn't capture the feeling I got from the view. I'll have to work on that. Here is my first attempt.

I'm tired today. I got up really early for work! I took my photo today in  my dorm.

I'm starting to really like shooting manually. My camera just doesn't know the look I'm going for and if I actually take the time to mess around I can get something cool and more like what I'm seeing. Here's today's photo!

I stopped on the lookout on highway 36 to play around with some night photos again.

365: Day 30

You are in for a treat tonight! After work, I drove to this lake/pond near my house because I've always wanted to try night photography. I did shots at for 1 and a half, 2 and a half, 5, and 10 minutes. I love the 5 and 10 minute shots. I edited the photos because the streetlights nearby gave an uncomfortable orange tint to the pictures. Here they are in the order of how long they took, lowest to highest.

Look! Star trails! And I couldn't resist editing. I LOVE the last photo. My new background? Probably. It was really hard to do this because I had to manually focus since it was too dark for my camera/lens to do it. But I think I pretty much got it in focus, or close enough for me to be pleased with my first real night photography attempt. Oh boy. All done!

Day 28 & 29

Sorry this blog post is coming so late, I was not feeling well at all yesterday. BUT I did take a picture yesterday. I want to redo it because I have greater visions and I hate the shadow in the photo. I'll have to go back. Here is day 28.

Now for today, day 29! I have been eyeing this staircase with the leaves for awhile, I think it's super pretty.

The lovely Sara Strimpel stopped by and I showed her my fisheye adapter. She took a picture of me and I took one of her. It was too orange for my taste, so I changed it :)

My dog is really scared of the camera. I'm trying to get him to warm up to it. Today, I took pictures where he couldn't see me and then worked up to where he could see me. He looked so sad still, but he didn't run away.

Three whole weeks. Feels like I've been taking pictures for my whole life. I didn't spend much time on my picture today.

I had another picture in mind today, but the school's band was kind of in the way. So I took pictures of flowers. That's just what I do. You know.

I will show the black and white version, too, but I like how striking the color version is.

With my laptop as the base and sunlight from my dorm window coming in, I'm pretty pleased with these pictures. Once again, I'm feeling a little abstract. These are nail polish bottles. I like all the funny shapes they have.

I'm playing around in lightroom a lot these days. There is an effect called clarity and I'm going to show it to you in two extremes. One at 100 and one at -100. I just think that the effect is cool both ways so I figured I'd share it.
