Rocky Mountain National Park

My boyfriend and I decided to go to Rocky Mountain National Park for the day. We also decided to go around the whole loop, not realizing it would lead to a two hour detour! So we ended up driving around for about six hours....initially expecting to drive for four. It was still fun! We saw pikas and marmots...I only saw the marmots because they're big and my eyesight is terrible. There also was a crazy caterpillar - it was so furry!

Crazy Caterpillar

You can kind of see the marmot.

It was really neat to eat lunch above the tree-line and see everything! The mountains are really spectacular. I attempted to get some landscape shots. Landscapes aren't something I normally shoot but I could see myself getting more into it.

After leaving the park, we stopped so that Mark could pee. We ended up finding a gorgeous little river!

And then...we attempted to take pictures of ourselves because we can be pretty cute.

Sometimes we are just silly and not cute...at all.
Not being cute.
Overall, I had a really great time. It was fun trying to take pictures of ourselves. There were so many obstacles like making sure the shutter went, crossing the river, not falling in. We definitely had an adventure! When we finally made it out of the mountains, we ended the day with some Chipotle (yum) and an old movie called Sabrina.

Megan and Dylan

This couple is something else! They began dating at the end of high school and couldn't bare to break up. So, they are doing long distance despite how hard it is. I admire them for getting what they want and refusing to let distance get in the way.

This morning the three of us ventured up to the foothills to take some photos. It was a little early for all of us, but the morning light was great.  These two really didn't need any direction from me, they had their world and were happy to be in it. I'm lucky I got to see that! If you want to see more from this shoot, check out my Facebook page here.

Jasmine's Portraits

My friend Jasmine needed some traditional portraits taken and of course I was up for the job! I don't typically do a lot of traditional work, but it was a nice change of pace. We went to a spot behind my house and did a quick little shoot. The morning light was just right. We were both tired though - apparently it was painful for her to smile. Even so, it was fun. Let me know what you guys think!

Megan

I had the pleasure of shooting with my friend Megan this week! We've known each other since middle school and it was very exciting to get to do a photo shoot with her again. I haven't take any photos of her since last year because she's been gone for school. We initially tried to go for a 1920s vibe, but it kind of evolved into something a little bit different. I have recently become obsessed with the "Create Virtual Copy" feature in Lightroom, so I went a little nuts editing photos multiple ways. So I know there may be repeats in this post but I am organizing it by the style I used. Enjoy!
Can you believe it? Full color photos!

Now here's some styles that are a little different.
