Igo/LaFoe Wedding

I feel so lucky I was one of the photographers at this wedding. The couple was adorable, everyone was fun, and it was truly a celebration! I spent some time with the groomsmen before the ceremony and they were a hoot. They were playing poker for awhile and having plenty of fun! Downstairs with the rest of the bridal party I was lucky enough to see one of the young girls standing beneath the bride's wedding dress. It was just too cute! I'll be sure to include a photo. The wedding took place at the Trinity UMC. If you don't know about this venue, just know that it is spectacular. Everything went well during the ceremony. After getting a few group shots and some romantic photos, we went to the reception at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. The view was amazing and so was the food! Also, there was this crazy dance called the "alligator dance" which you should check out. It was possibly the craziest dance I've ever seen!

I'm trying not to include photos that I posted on my facebook page, which you can access clicking here. If there is a repeat, it's because i love the photo so much! Let me know what you guys think!

New

I know it has been a long time since I last posted. I stopped taking photos for awhile. I know, shame on me. The thing is...I got a new camera body. So exciting right?! Can't you picture me ripping the box open and running around taking pictures of everything and anything I can?

Well, that isn't what happened. I took it out of the box. It was big and unfamiliar. I was scared to touch it. So I didn't use it. It seemed wrong to use my old body when I had this brand new spiffy one...So I didn't take pictures.

But I NEED to know how to use this camera body. So this weekend I finally started to take pictures. I've been taking pictures of anything I see beauty in. These photos may not be the most spectacular ones I have ever taken. They were taken minutes before I had to leave for work or in the dead of night when I was exhausted. But it feels good to shoot again, even if the camera is bigger and the shutter doesn't sound like I think it should. The body doesn't matter. The end justifies the means.

Rocky Mountain National Park

My boyfriend and I decided to go to Rocky Mountain National Park for the day. We also decided to go around the whole loop, not realizing it would lead to a two hour detour! So we ended up driving around for about six hours....initially expecting to drive for four. It was still fun! We saw pikas and marmots...I only saw the marmots because they're big and my eyesight is terrible. There also was a crazy caterpillar - it was so furry!

Crazy Caterpillar

You can kind of see the marmot.

It was really neat to eat lunch above the tree-line and see everything! The mountains are really spectacular. I attempted to get some landscape shots. Landscapes aren't something I normally shoot but I could see myself getting more into it.

After leaving the park, we stopped so that Mark could pee. We ended up finding a gorgeous little river!

And then...we attempted to take pictures of ourselves because we can be pretty cute.

Sometimes we are just silly and not cute...at all.
Not being cute.
Overall, I had a really great time. It was fun trying to take pictures of ourselves. There were so many obstacles like making sure the shutter went, crossing the river, not falling in. We definitely had an adventure! When we finally made it out of the mountains, we ended the day with some Chipotle (yum) and an old movie called Sabrina.
